You may have noticed the recent change in temperature if you live in the Northeast United States. We've been experiencing temperatures up into the high 70s, with quite a bit of strong sun. (Of course, today is raining, but the trend has been sun and increasing temperatures!)
Over the weekend, my husband and I took time to work in our yard. We cut down dead trees, raked out dead leaves, cut new flower beds into the ground, and planted various flowers. Our yard had been neglected by the previous homeowners for quite some time, and it needed a face-lift! The yard work made an amazing difference.
I was reminded today about how gardening is a lot like living life. We need to make time to prune out the dead stuff, remember to fertilize the new growth, and take time to stop and smell the roses.
Join me in finding a characteristic about your personality that you dislike and one that you do like. Let's prune out the negative characteristic (for me, it's going to be my need to feel like a martyr) and fertilize the positive characteristic (I'm going to work on bettering my listening skills). I'm also going to make more time for my husband and do fun things with him, like working on the yard. That'll be my "stop and smell the roses" part.
How will you be nurturing yourself?
